Our Story

Gillette Design Studio was born from a real-life renovation project in the summer of 2018.

While renovating a rental home that required extensive repairs, we faced the challenge of obtaining the necessary permits from the city. As we navigated the permit process, we quickly learned that understanding the documentation requirements was only part of the challenge. Hiring someone to prepare construction drawings often came with a significant cost.

Rather than incur that expense, we decided to learn the process ourselves and prepare our own construction drawings. After investing the time to understand permit requirements and drafting standards, we successfully submitted our plans for review. The plans were approved, the permits were issued, and the renovation moved forward successfully.

That experience inspired the creation of Gillette Design Studio.

Our mission is simple: to provide affordable, professional drafting and rendering services while sharing useful information that helps homeowners, contractors, and property owners better understand the design and permitting process. We believe quality drafting services should be accessible, practical, and tailored to each client's unique needs.

Today, Gillette Design Studio proudly serves the Dallas–Fort Worth area and clients nationwide through remote drafting services. We provide as-built floor plans, construction drawings, kitchen and bath designs, and realistic 3D renderings that help clients visualize their projects before construction begins.

We understand the challenges of turning an idea into reality because we've been there ourselves. Our goal is to make that journey easier, more affordable, and more successful for every client.
